X Train..........the Party Train
By Mick Bailey

The Las Vegas Railway Express, Inc. (Vegas X Train) became real to a lot of people in the last month. Since its inception everyone knew access to the existing railway tracks owned by the Union Pacific Railroad was a must for the train to make the journey from Los Angeles to Las Vegas by rail. Behind the scenes CEO/President Michael Barron and his team was negotiating with the Union Pacific. On November 16, 2012 a press release on Marketwire announced the Las Vegas Railway Express, Inc. and the Union Pacific Railroad had signed a conditional agreement to provide passenger service on Union Pacific-owned right of way between Las Vegas, Nevada, and Daggett, California. A major milestone for the Vegas X Train was completed.

Local press was the first to pick up on the news of the agreement on sites like vegasinc.com. The local attention was welcome to the Vegas X Train. Mr. Barron and his team had been working to meet the goal of the Union Pacific agreement since 2009. The Vegas X Train went national on November 23, 2012 when the Associated Press wrote the article “Calif.-Vegas party train could hit tracks in 2013”. No longer was the X Train followed by a few news organizations in Southern Nevada. The Associated Press article was picked up by news agencies around the country including the Huffington Post, the Business Insider, Los Angeles Times, Fox News and USA Today. Internationally, Canadian Business and the United Kingdome’s Mail On Line ran the story.

CEO Michael Barron and his staff have been inundated with requests for on camera and radio interviews. Kevin Wall with News Radio KXNT 100.5 FM / 840 AM and the Success City Radio Show are just two of numerous shows Mr. Barron granted interviews.

The Vegas X Train, also known as the “party train” will be providing rail service from L A to Las Vegas and back starting late 2013.  Between now and then there are going to be numerous milestones met. Press releases, news articles and interviews will be a common occurrence as the X Train gets closer to inaugural run. Stay up to date on the progress of the Vegas X Train at vegasxtrain.com.
